Kimberlite against carbon dioxide: Russian scientists demonstrate potential of continuous CO₂ absorption by processed rock
Geologists from Lomonosov Moscow State University have found a way to turn diamond mining waste into a tool for combating greenhouse gases. The researchers determined that processed kimberlite from mining sites is capable of absorbing carbon dioxide within a short period of time. The extraction, processing and storage cycle of the ore plays a key role.
