Abu Dhabi Development Fund finances projects in 42 African countries
The Fund has committed more than US$9 billion to sustainable development initiatives in Africa over the past 40 years
The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) was instrumental in 2023 in a US$4.5 billion endeavour spearheaded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to fortify Africa's sustainable energy infrastructure. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
The Africa50 Fund, a pan-African investment platform established by African governments and the African Development Bank, collaborated with this initiative, which has the backing of both the public and private sectors, to help close the infrastructure financing gap in Africa by promoting project development.
The source claims that throughout the previous ten years, ADFD has significantly aided in the development of infrastructure, economic diversification, and the realisation of African economies.
