Photo exhibition dedicated to 25th Anniversary of SCO opens in Bishkek

The exhibition presents the results of practical cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) throughout its existence, highlighting the strengthening of friendship among the peoples of the organisation’s member states. The exhibition, titled "Pooling the Strength of the SCO: Moving Toward Development and Prosperity", features 32 photographs divided into five thematic sections: "A Shared Journey Over 25 Years", "Strengthening the Foundation for Safeguarding Peace", "Shared Prosperity: Unlocking New Opportunities", "Bridges Between Hearts: A Shared Future", and "A New Chapter for a Community with a Shared Future". The event was organised by the SCO Secretariat and Xinhua News Agency, a TV BRICS partner.

Kadyrbek Sarbaev, Senior Expert at the SCO Secretariat, noted that the exhibits make it possible to trace the formation of one of the world’s largest transregional organisations.

"The SCO's role is growing year by year. China, as a founding member of the organisation, has played a very important role," Sarbaev emphasised.

Andrey Mokhor, Director General of the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA), a TV BRICS partner, noted that the photographs at the exhibition reflect history.

"When we look at these photographs taken over the past 25 years, we can see the different stages of the organisation's development. We can see where it started, what steps were taken, how it evolved and how that journey compares with what we have achieved today. Together, these moments form a complete picture of the remarkable path we have travelled," he said.

According to Mokhor, the development of the SCO clearly demonstrates that states with different cultures, political systems and economic models are capable of effective cooperation for the common good.

Kyrgyz expert Ismail Dairov expressed confidence that the organisation still has many achievements ahead.

"It is clear what a remarkable journey the SCO has made over the past 25 years. The organisation's promising future is something to be welcomed," Dairov noted.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was founded in 2001 by the leaders of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
