Ethiopia and Russia are seeking to deepen cooperation in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, with research, skills development and technology transfer identified as key areas for closer collaboration, as reported by Fana Media Corporation, a TV BRICS partner.
The latest discussions took place during a visit by Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, where he reviewed the institution's research and development activities and its role in the country's digital transformation.
Institute Director General Worku Gachena presented the institute's work in applying artificial intelligence and related technologies to Ethiopia's priority social and economic sectors. He highlighted research and development as an important driver of technological progress and digital transformation.
During the visit, Terekhin emphasised the long-standing relations between Ethiopia and Russia and expressed support for expanding cooperation in research and development, human capital development and technology transfer.
