The state of Mato Grosso in Brazil shipped 219,760 tonnes of cotton, the highest volume ever recorded for March and the seventh-largest monthly figure in its historical series, as reported by Safras, a partner of TV BRICS.

This figure not only surpasses the previous year’s level but also sets a new historical record for the period, reflecting growth of 2.62 per cent year-on-year.

The results further highlight Mato Grosso’s leading role in Brazil’s cotton sector. The state currently accounts for 59.04 per cent of national exports for the 2024/25 season, underlining its strategic importance within the country’s agricultural economy.

The source stated that the projections indicate that Mato Grosso is on track to achieve a third consecutive annual export record.

BRICS countries and its partners are continuing to strengthen agricultural production and export performance, expanding international market access and supporting steady growth across key commodity sectors.

Egypt’s agricultural exports continued to expand in 2026, supported by new market access agreements and sustained international demand. In the first three months of 2026, Egypt exported 24,275 tonnes of onions and 5,147 tonnes of garlic, reflecting steady export performance for both crops. Furthermore, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, announced the opening of two new export markets in Uruguay for Egyptian onions and garlic, reports Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.

In addition, Vietnam’s export growth continues to be driven by high-tech industries and the agri-food sector. Shipments of computers, electronic products and components increased by more than 40 per cent. In the agriculture, forestry and fisheries segment, export revenues reached US$16.69 billion in the first quarter, marking a 5.9 per cent year-on-year increase. Agricultural products remained the core contributor with exports of US$8.93 billion, up 4.1 per cent. Livestock products posted the fastest growth, surging by over 54 per cent to US$197.7 million, reflecting improved competitiveness and broader market access.

Seafood exports also showed stable expansion, rising 13.3 per cent to US$2.62 billion. According to Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS, these efforts have contributed to strengthening Vietnam’s competitiveness and reinforcing its role as a dynamic participant in global trade.

Meanwhile, сountries in Latin America and Central Asia are also expanding their export capacity, increasing trade flows and reinforcing their positions in global commodity markets.

Chile’s exports reached US$30.05 billion in the first quarter of 2026, increasing by 13.8 per cent year-on-year, according to the latest foreign trade report. Growth was driven mainly by the mining sector, which totalled US$17.64 billion (+21.6 per cent), supported by a significant 147.7 per cent rise in lithium carbonate shipments to US$1.11 billion.

The food sector recorded exports of US$3.75 billion (+9 per cent), while chemical manufacturing grew by 35.8 per cent to US$2.44 billion. As reported by El Ciudadano, a partner of TV BRICS, machinery and equipment exports also expanded by 16.8 per cent, reaching US$382 million, reflecting stronger international demand across key industrial segments.

Also, in 2025, sugar exports from Kyrgyzstan exceeded 17,800 tonnes, according to data from the Statistical Committee, reflecting steady international trade activity. The vast majority of shipments were directed to Uzbekistan, which received approximately 17,680 tonnes. Akchabar, a partner of TV BRICS reports, other volumes were also supplied to Tajikistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Russia, highlighting a range of destination markets for the product.
