Russia’s engineering exports rise 28% amid growth in non-resource trade
Engineering sector leads expansion as exports to partner markets continue to increase

Russia's exports of engineering products grew by 28 per cent in 2025, becoming the strongest-performing segment of the country’s non-resource, non-energy exports, Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov announced during a meeting of the State Council Commission on International Cooperation and Export.
According to the minister, non-resource, non-energy exports increased by 11.2 per cent over the year, supported by a 17.3 per cent rise in industrial exports. Alongside engineering, the chemical industry recorded growth of more than 20 per cent, while exports from the metallurgical sector expanded by 10 per cent.
Alikhanov noted that partner countries continue to account for an increasing share of Russian non-resource exports, reaching 86 per cent of total shipments in this category. The strongest export growth was recorded in trade with China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and India, as reported by the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening regional export infrastructure and expanding support mechanisms for small and medium-sized enterprises seeking access to international markets. According to Alikhanov, innovative companies across Russia are showing growing interest in foreign trade activities, creating new opportunities for export expansion.
Looking ahead, the minister highlighted several sectors with significant export potential, including unmanned aerial systems, autonomous ground vehicles, chemical consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
The latest figures reflect Russia’s continued efforts to increase the share of high-value-added products and strengthen industrial cooperation with international partners.
