India has the lowest number of active COVID-19 cases in 1,823 days
With 30,256 people testing positive for the coronavirus infection, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 33.5 million, while the number of active cases fell by 13,977 cases, the lowest number in 1,823 days, according to India's health ministry. That's what The Economic Times reports.
The number of active cases fell to 318,181, or 0.95% of the total number of infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 cure rate was recorded at 97.72%, according to the health ministry.
In India, 198,809,823 people have been fully vaccinated, representing 14.6% of the national population. The total number of doses administered was 796,015,119.
