Indian Supreme Court tightened firecrackers in the country

As The Indian Express writes , judges have made the decision to allow sale of only ecologically safe petards, with the low level of air pollution and maximum permissible noise.
Only the licensed trade enterprises will be able to sell them. The total ban is imposed on online sale of petards and crackers.

Besides, judges have limited the use of petards on the time of day. For the period of the Diwali holiday, "a festival of fires", they are allowed to be blown up from 8 pm to 10 pm, and from 11:45 pm to 12:45 am during Christmas and New year celebration.

Earlier the public petition which was trying to obtain the national ban on production, sale and transportation of petards because of harmful effects of pyrotechnics on the environment has been presented in India.

Producers of petards, in turn, have agreed to tough regulation instead of a total ban. Businessmen have said that the ecology in the country suffers not only because of petards and have referred to the fact that they are limited in the right of business on the basis of the statements which are not supported with actual data.

It is to be recalled that, according to RIA Novosti, last year after the celebration of Diwali the level of air pollution exceeded norm by 15 times.
