Iran’s agricultural export sector recorded a robust 35 per cent growth in value during the first 11 months of the Iranian calendar year 1403 (March 2024 to February 2025), reaching US$7.57 billion. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
Over this period, the country exported 9.4 million tonnes of agricultural, livestock, crop and food products to a diverse range of international markets.
Approximately 90 per cent of the export volume and 77 per cent of its value were directed to 15 neighbouring countries.
The Iranian Ministry of Agriculture is advancing plans to streamline export procedures and strengthen compliance with global standards. Measures include the official registration of orchards and the introduction of formal contractual frameworks between farmers and exporters to ensure traceability and product accountability.
According to the source, Iran remains one of the world’s top producers of pistachios, saffron, dates and various fruits and nuts, which continue to enjoy strong demand in regional and international markets.
