Malaysia to strengthen ASEAN cooperation to develop semiconductor industry

The initiative will form part of Malaysia's programme as ASEAN chair in 2025

Malaysia intends to actively strengthen cooperation with ASEAN member countries to develop a regional semiconductor supply chain. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Liew Chin Tong.

Liew Chin Tong said the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is finalising the AEC Strategic Plan 2026-2030, which is scheduled to be presented at the 46th ASEAN Summit in May. This is reported by Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.

The AEC Strategic Plan, along with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, will serve as the foundation for the region's sustainable development.

Malaysia, as ASEAN Chair in 2025, intends to play an active role in the implementation of the AEC Strategic Plan.
