Russian Ministry of Education and Science has allocated 1.5 billion rubles for developments in the field of AI
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation allocated 1.5 billion rubles to conduct researches, development and projects in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in 2021. Moreover, part of the funds was invested to the implementation of the "Artificial Intelligence Systems" educational module in the universities of Russia. This information is given on the website of the Ministry.
Last year, the Ministry provided financial supported for 24 projects in the field of artificial intelligence in total.
For instance, the Southern Federal University (SFU) got funding for building of a neurotechnological platform to improve the quality of education. The complex developed with the use of neurotechnologies will allow to test students more effectively to determine the level of motivation, as well as to build the curriculum in accordance with the individual psychophysiological characteristics and the state of the student (attention span, involvement, etc.).
The Center for Photonics and Two-Dimensional Materials at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) opened an international laboratory headed by Professor Luis Martin-Moreno of the University of Zaragoza (Spain) last year. He is one of the founding fathers of modern nanophotonics. In the new laboratory, young scientists will conduct breakthrough researches in nanophotonics, as well as applied researches and development for civilian purposes.
As a result of the A+ level conferences in the field of artificial intelligence, Russian scientists prepared 76 publications, which significantly exceeded the preliminary indicators.
