Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrates his birthday
On October 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrates his birthday.
President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, was among the first world leaders to congratulate the Russian head of state. He noted that the republic highly appreciates Putin's principled attitude to further development of the Belarusian-Russian relations of union and strategic partnership.
"I am confident that together we will be able to open new horizons and outline promising areas of cooperation that meet modern challenges and ensure the expansion of multifaceted ties between our countries," reports BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS.
In addition, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President of the Central American country Rosario Murillo sent a birthday message to Putin. They wished the Russian leader and the people of Russia well wishes. The leaders of Bolivia and Cuba, Luis Arce and Miguel Diaz-Canel, in turn, expressed their best wishes on social networks.
King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a telegram to Putin, wishing the people of Russia prosperity. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also congratulated the head of state on his birthday during a telephone conversation.
The politician was born in 1952 in Leningrad (the name of Saint Petersburg from 1924 to 1991). After graduating from the Faculty of Law of Leningrad State University (LSU) in 1975, Putin joined the Committee for State Security (KGB).
From 1991 to 1996, he worked in the St. Petersburg Mayor's Office, and then he moved to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, where he held various positions until his appointment as Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in 1998.
In 2000, he won the early presidential election. Vladimir Putin was re-elected as head of state in 2004, 2012, 2018, and 2024. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Prime Minister.
During the period of his presidency, Russia hosted major international events, including the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The St. Petersburg Forums (SPIEF) and Eastern Economic Forums are held regularly. Additionally, the Russian Federation participated in the creation of organisations such as BRICS, SCO, and EAEU.
