Sino-Kazahstan joint centre to train specialists in the field of logistics

About 200 people will be trained at the Intelligent Logistics training centre in Almaty, Kazakhstan, by the end of 2024. The programme will cover topics such as warehousing and distribution, freight forwarding, and cross-border e-commerce.

The centre, jointly established by Urumqi Vocational University, the Almaty Academy of Logistics and Transport, and a Chinese company, will provide new skills to Chinese university students, employees of Chinese enterprises, and Kazakhstani citizens. This is reported by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.

The main goals of the Sino-Kazakhstan centre are to train specialists, improve their skills, and expand employment opportunities for the local population.

Tang Xiaobing, Party secretary of Urumqi Vocational University, said that as economic exchanges between China, Kazakhstan, and other countries along the Silk Road strengthen, the transport and logistics industry is playing an increasingly important role.

Tan Xiaobing highlighted that factors such as China's openness to engage with international partners and the formation of a free trade zone in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have opened up new opportunities for the logistics industry in Kazakhstan. The need for talent is becoming more and more evident.

According to Tan, the new centre aims to train the technical specialists needed by overseas enterprises.
