The XII International Film Festival "Rendezvous with Russia" started in the Vologda region

On Wednesday, 1 December, the XII International Film Festival "Rendezvous with Russia" started in the Vologda region. The cultural event will continue till December 5. The festival is organized by the non-profit partnership for promotion of cinema and tourism "Kit" and the Vologda Oblast Government. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Rostourism.

XII International festival of tourist films and television programs "Rendezvous with Russia" is aimed at effective use of cinema and television opportunities to present history, culture, nature of Russian regions as well as to attract Russians and foreign visitors to travelling and recreation in Russia. The film festival invites all audiences to travel to places highlighted by the festival’s films, and invites filmmakers to discover interesting locations for new work.

This year's festival program includes screenings of documentary, feature and animated films, travelogues, TV programs, round tables, master classes and presentations.

The competition categories of the festival are "A Chronicle of Russia", "To Russia for Adventures", and "Frescoes of the North". For the first time travel video clips will be shown.

Starting from this year there is also a new nomination "Step into the Profession" where viewers will be able to see the works of young filmmakers from different regions of Russia.

TV BRICS has been the media partner of the competition since 2020. For the second year, TV BRICS is the founder of its own nomination "For the Development of the Tourism Film Genre". In 2020, the winner of the TV BRICS statuette was the documentary "Russian Antarctica".

The winner of the special TV BRICS nomination was also screened on TV BRICS Russia and was also presented to TV BRICS South Africa's partner, TV BRICS Moja Media Group. A special offline screening of the film took place as part of TV BRICS' special project - South Africa Days - which was launched at the Moscow International Multimedia Centre in March 2021.

TV BRICS also traditionally presents a special programme of film screenings of TV BRICS partners from the five countries. At the 12th festival "Rendezvous with Russia" will be presented:
