Tunisian government increases funds allocated for clinical research
This initiative was discussed in connection with International Clinical Research Day
During a meeting at the Tunis Medical School in honour of the International Day of Clinical Research, the Ministers of Health and Social Affairs stated that the government of Tunisia is looking to enhance funding allocated to clinical research. This is reported by Tunis Afrique Presse, a partner of TV BRICS.
The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the private sector, experts, and specialists in the field of clinical research will all contribute to improving the quality of scientific research, according to Health Minister Ali Mrabet, who also expressed the department's readiness to increase funding allocated for such research.
The source reports that the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) has allocated 60 per cent of contributions to finance the central pharmacy, public hospitals, and service providers, pointing out that the health insurance system has been based on the therapeutic aspect for many years and should include the prevention aspect in the coming period.
