Iran's role in BRICS
Iran, like many BRICS countries, is rich in resources (oil, natural gas, coal, iron ore). Experts believe that joining the association could give this state access to new markets and technologies. In turn, Tehran is ready to provide its BRICS partners with the opportunity to fulfil their energy needs. Among other things, experts see prospects for the development of an international transport and logistics system (construction of the Chabahar port in the Gulf of Oman) and mutual trade. Some analysts also predict the strengthening of bilateral co-operation within the association: the creation of export consortia of Iranian companies to supply products to the BRICS countries.

Main industries: oil and gas, textile, food, construction, machine building. Most of the country's exports of food and agricultural commodity groups are fruits and nuts. The share of the service sector is 51% of GDP.
