Brazil's tourism sector creates nearly 26,000 jobs in April

Thanks to long holidays and growing interest in domestic tourism, Brazil's tourism sector continues to perform well in the labour market. In April alone, 25,962 new formal jobs were created in this sector, 32 per cent more than in the same period in 2024. This is reported by the official website of the Brazilian Government.

In the first four months of 2025, more than 88,000 formal jobs were created in the industry, 11 per cent more than in the same period last year.

"These figures confirm that tourism remains a strategic force for job creation and income generation across the country. Each new job represents an opportunity for Brazilians and reinforces the sector's key role in economic recovery and regional development," said Tourism Minister Celso Sabino.

The hotel business and catering services led the way in job growth, creating 15,452 jobs, 64 per cent more than in April 2024. The arts and culture segment came in second with 4,386 new jobs (a 19 per cent increase), and passenger transport came in third with 3,849 new jobs (a 39 per cent increase).
