China Supports accelarated accession of Belarus to the SCO
PRC and Belarus also gave a new boost to their cooperation ties
The People's Republic of China supports Belarus' accelerated accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This was said in a joint statement on the further development of the exemplary relations of the all-weather and all-round strategic partnership of the two countries in the new era by the leaders of the states Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping after their talks in Beijing on Wednesday.
It is stressed that the parties will continue to implement comprehensive cooperation within the framework of multilateral structures, such as the SCO and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia.
PRC and Belarus also gave a new boost to their cooperation ties with the signing of agreements that expand exchanges in various socio-economic sectors, with the aim of generating shared profits, as reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
The agreements cover agriculture, trade, tourism, health, customs, culture and sports, among other areas, and were sealed after formal talks between Presidents Xi Jinping and Alexander Lukashenko.
Moreover, they serve to complement the broad strategic association between the two countries and will be effected in the context of China's Silk Belt and Road initiative.
He mentioned China's high esteem for ties with the European nation, defined the friendship between Beijing and Minsk as unbreakable and called for united and more coordinated work in international spaces such as the United Nations to address global challenges.
He proposed to create joint enterprises and modernise Belarusian enterprises with the introduction of modern Chinese technologies, received more investments from the eastern state and increased personal contact.
Likewise, he expressed his willingness to join forces to maintain security and stability at the regional and international level.
The visiting dignitary also spoke on Wednesday with China's Premier Li Keqiang and parliamentary leader Li Zhanshu.
Following the talks Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka invited President of China Xi Jinping to visit Belarus at an appropriate time for both sides.
