UAE wins 15 medals on opening day of Jiu-Jitsu Asian Youth Championship
The national team secured three gold, five silver and seven bronze medals in the Under-16 competition in Almaty
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team made a strong start to the third Jiu-Jitsu Asian Youth Championship, winning 15 medals on the opening day of competition at Almaty Arena in Kazakhstan. Competing in the Under-16 category, the team claimed three gold, five silver and seven bronze medals, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
Gold medals were won by Abdulrahman Taher Al Breiki (Under 40kg), Saeed Marwan Alqubaisi (Under 52kg) and Fahad Saoud Aldhaheri (Under 62kg).
Technical Director of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali said the results reflected the team’s thorough preparation and the athletes’ ability to execute tactical plans under pressure.
"The championship represents an important milestone in the development of this age group, as it provides valuable experience against some of Asia's leading young talents. Participation forms part of an integrated plan aimed at refining athletes' skills, strengthening their competitive experience and preparing a generation capable of continuing the UAE's achievements in jiu-jitsu," he added.
Under-16 national team coach Ibrahim Alhosani highlighted the athletes’ technical discipline and adaptability throughout the competition. He said the coaching staff would continue analysing performances to build on the experience gained during the tournament.
