International tournament will bring global darts competition to Egypt as the country expands its role as a major destination for sporting events

Egypt has secured the right to host the 2027 World Darts Championship, marking another step in the country's efforts to attract major international sporting competitions and strengthen its position on the global sports calendar, as reported by Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.
Egypt’s sports authorities described the event as a significant addition to the nation’s expanding portfolio of international competitions, highlighting the importance of developing local sports infrastructure and increasing opportunities to host global championships.
The tournament is expected to contribute to the growth of darts in the region while supporting wider sports development initiatives and encouraging greater participation in emerging disciplines.
Officials said hosting the championship aligns with a broader strategy to expand Egypt’s role as a regional and international sports hub. The country has continued to invest in modern sporting facilities, organisational capabilities and event management expertise to attract major competitions.
The 2027 championship is also expected to provide a boost to sports tourism by attracting athletes, officials and international visitors, creating additional opportunities for cultural exchange and economic activity linked to global sporting events.
