Egypt holds meeting on climate change adaptation in North Coast and the Nile River Delta

Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sweilam met with ministry heads to discuss the progress of the climate change adaptation project on the North Coast and the Nile River Delta.
They reviewed possible legal and institutional measures for coastal management. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
The Minister emphasised the importance of establishing a framework for effective coastal management and enhancing cooperation among ministries.
He also highlighted the need to implement climate change adaptation projects such as beach protection and coastal management planning.
The importance of involving local communities in projects using environmentally friendly technologies to ensure sustainability of projects was also emphasised.
