Ethiopia develops African Continental Free Trade Area Implementation Strategy

With a combined GDP of around USD 3 trillion, the 55 member states of the African Union were brought together in a historic endeavour to form the AfCFTA, or African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement, which was adopted in 2018. This is reported by ENA.

With the goal of establishing a single African market that will facilitate investment and the free flow of goods and services, this agreement creates the legal foundation for comprehensive economic integration. In the end, this will increase Africa's capacity for international trade in the digital era.

Ethiopia showed its dedication to this revolutionary project in 2019 by ratifying the AfCFTA.

The strategy is crucial to enhancing Ethiopia's preparedness to fully reap the benefits of the AfCFTA since it places a high priority on inclusivity, gender sensitivity, and environmental sustainability.

In order to ensure sustained economic growth throughout the continent and to further Ethiopia's integration into the African market, these initiatives are crucial.
