Indian tourism to Egypt rises as cooperation between countries improves

A notable increase in tourism from India to Egypt has been reported, with figures showing an 18.8 per cent rise in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. This is reported by Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.

In response to this trend, a meeting was held recently between Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and the Indian Ambassador to Cairo. The discussions, held at the Ministry's headquarters, focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration in both tourism and the preservation of ancient sites.

The minister expressed enthusiasm for the growing relationship between the two nations, highlighting the potential for increased cooperation in the tourism sector. The talks centred on how to further promote Egypt as a destination within India, and vice versa.

Key initiatives under consideration include the organisation of joint workshops for tour operators and travel agents from both countries. These workshops aim to facilitate a deeper understanding of each market and encourage the development of tailored travel packages.

Discussions also addressed the importance of catering to the specific needs of Indian visitors. There is a particular focus on cultural and entertainment tourism, as well as the burgeoning market for destination weddings.
