Kazakhstan increases grain and flour exports to 13.1 million tonnes
Rising shipments to Central Asia support continued growth in Kazakhstan's agricultural exports
Kazakhstan exported 13.1 million tonnes of grain and flour in grain equivalent during the first ten months of the current marketing season, marking a 13 per cent increase compared with the same period of the previous season. As reported by Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the ministry, exports totalled 11.6 million tonnes during the corresponding period of the previous season. The strongest growth was recorded in deliveries to Kazakhstan's traditional markets in Central Asia.
Exports to Uzbekistan increased by 38 per cent, rising from 3.9 million tonnes to 5.5 million tonnes, while shipments to Kyrgyzstan grew by 40 per cent, from 357,000 tonnes to 504,000 tonnes. Deliveries to Turkmenistan also expanded by 37 per cent, reaching 205,000 tonnes.
The Ministry of Agriculture noted that the positive freight transport figures reflect strong international demand for Kazakhstan's agricultural products and the stable operation of logistics corridors in the southern direction. The ministry added that the results also demonstrate the effectiveness of measures aimed at strengthening export logistics and expanding trade and economic cooperation with international partners.
