Iran ranks among top 100 global leaders in AI readiness for government services
Iran has ranked 94th among 193 countries in the latest Oxford Insights index, measuring government readiness for implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in public services. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
The index, which evaluates 39 indicators across three main pillars (Government, Technology Sector, and Data and infrastructure), places Iran’s highest score in the Data and Infrastructure pillar, achieving 55.88 points.
Several Arab nations have made significant strides by investing in AI infrastructure and development, placing many within the top 50 globally.
In terms of AI research, Iran leads among Islamic nations, publishing the highest volume of AI documents, with 2,638 documents produced between 2013 and 2022.
Furthermore, Iran ranks 14th worldwide in AI research output, reflecting its rapid advancements in the field. It is also positioned in the top ranks among Islamic countries across various technology sectors, including 3D printing, robotics, and 5G technology.
