Iran unveils national AI platform to boost tech infrastructure and data security
The initiative is designed to support decision-making processes across government
Iran has unveiled a new national artificial intelligence platform designed to strengthen the country’s technological infrastructure, provide specialised services, and support decision-making processes within government.
According to a representative from Sharif University of Technology and a member of the development team, the platform comprises four levels: a specialised data centre to host advanced AI equipment; a comprehensive software infrastructure for resource management; a network integrating natural language models and other applications; and a specialised studio making AI tools available to businesses, researchers, and the public.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagher Ghaznavi, director of the artificial assistance project, announced the development of “design assistants” for ministries and public bodies, capable of predicting the effects of government decisions before their application.
Implemented in phases, the system has involved universities in collecting, verifying, and analysing legislation, identifying regulatory contradictions, according to Mehr News Agency, a TV BRICS partner.
Through this initiative, Iran aims to enhance the security of its data and foster a local AI ecosystem that unites academia, industry, and public administration.
