New TV project about Russian scientific developments is shown in six countries around the world
The BRICS+ countries are showing high interest in the TV series "Laboratorium" about the latest technological developments and world-class scientific discoveries made in Russia. The media project launched in the Year of Russia's BRICS Chairmanship by TV BRICS has been released abroad. On 27-29 November 2024, "Laboratorium" will be presented to the participants of the IV Congress of Young Scientists and the 9th BRICS Young Scientists Forum, which are held at Sirius with the information support of TV BRICS.
After the premiere of the series in Russia, which took place on TV BRICS in July-October 2024, the programme was adapted into five languages – English, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic – and broadcast to the international media network's foreign partners. During the first two months, "Laboratorium" was shown by ten major media outlets in six countries: television channels Com Brasil and TVC RIO (both Brazil), digital media channels Bricslat, Ahora San Juan, AsiaTv and Extra! (Argentina), DUrban TV (South Africa), Tehran Times (Iran), Dongbeiwang News Portal (China) and ANTV of the Venezuelan National Assembly.
"We were very happy to be able to put the Laboratorium series on our channel, it has had a very good run, it has been very enjoyable to watch and see the scientific developments that are coming out of Russia and, of course, how they can help Africa as a continent and South Africa as a nation to be able to work together on those kind of projects and develop new scientific ideas," said Doreen Theys, DUrban TV CEO (South Africa).
"We are delighted to broadcast on Extra! channel the programme "Laboratorium", which has captivated our viewers with fascinating scientific discoveries and the latest Russian developments. Our audience has received it with enthusiasm, noting the originality and quality of the content. This is a programme that should not be missed," says Franco Bindi (Argentina), the owner of Extra!.
In addition, the "Laboratorium" series was aired on TV BRICS partners in Russia – National Housing Channel (Murmansk region), TV channels Yugra (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra), Afontovo (Krasnoyarsk region), Channel 10 and Mordovia 24 (Republic of Mordovia).
The programme "Laboratorium" (from Latin laboratorium – "laboratory") demonstrates the achievements of university and academic science, tells about successful scientific and technological companies and reveals the image of a modern scientist. There are 13 episodes of 13 minutes each, each of which is dedicated to a unique discovery and its authors. The format of the programme implies an accessible explanation of the most complex developments in simple language and through clear associations.
"Laboratorium" covers a wide range of topics: promising trends in medical research, new methods of treatment and diagnosis of diseases, drug development, civil unmanned aerial vehicles, intelligent transport systems, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and technologies for sustainable agriculture. The project offers viewers to immerse themselves in the history of discovery, trace the stages of studying the problem at the international level, and understand the significance of the invention of Russian scientists for mankind and world science.
The "Laboratorium" series was created during the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia. The media project is implemented in accordance with the state programme "Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation" with the support of JSC Popov Radio Corporation.
