Nigeria and Colombia to explore new opportunities in aviation, trade, and culture

Nigeria is seeking to strengthen ties with Colombia in aviation, trade and cultural cooperation, President Bola Tinubu said during a meeting with Colombia’s Vice President, Francia Marquez, at State House in Abuja. This was reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a partner of TV BRICS.

Tinubu stressed that shifting global dynamics and economic volatility require new strategic partnerships for mutual prosperity. He assured the Colombian delegation that Nigeria would replicate agreements previously signed with Brazil on aviation and consular matters, accelerating similar arrangements with Colombia.

The President added that all bilateral meetings and agreements, supervised by Vice President Kashim Shettima, would receive prompt attention. “Our business opportunities with Colombia have already been enhanced. I support every aspect that you have agreed on,” Tinubu said. 

Tinubu also urged Colombian business leaders to explore investment opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector and agriculture. He pointed out that Nigeria’s youthful and growing population offers both a strong consumer market and a skilled workforce to support such ventures.

Vice President Marquez emphasised the potential for long-term cooperation between the two nations across aviation, visas, trade, political consultations and cultural exchanges.
