Russia is also the country's main trade partner in terms of trade turnover among the EAEU countries

At the end of 2024, Kazakhstan imported goods from Russia in the amount of US$18.252 billion, which is 8.3 per cent more than the previous year. This is stated in the report of the Bureau of National Statistics of the republic.

China, which imported goods worth US$15.153 billion to Kazakhstan in 2024, has also become one of the country's key import partners. As a result, the share of Russian goods of all products imported into the republic was 30.5 per cent, while Chinese goods accounted for 25.3 per cent.

In addition, Russia has become Kazakhstan's main trade partner in terms of trade turnover among the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

"In the total volume of foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the EAEU countries, a large share is occupied by the Russian Federation (91.3 per cent), followed by the Kyrgyz Republic (5.6 per cent), the Republic of Belarus (3 per cent) and the Republic of Armenia (0.1 per cent)," the report said.

According to the bureau, the republic last year mainly imported cars (3.8 per cent), aircraft (3 per cent), medicines (2.8 per cent), and telephones (2.7 per cent).
