Kyrgyzstan records growth in ice cream exports and livestock production
Kazakhstan has become an importer of Kyrgyz ice cream
Meat and milk production in Kyrgyzstan rose in the first half of this year, whilst ice cream exports increased over the first four months. This was reported by Akchabar, a partner of TV BRICS, citing data from the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Between January and April this year, the country exported 1.2 thousand tonnes of ice cream worth approximately US$11 000. The shipments were made to Kazakhstan. Compared with the same period in 2025, exports increased by 165.6 tonnes.
Growth in the production of meat and raw milk was recorded in a number of the country’s regions during the first half of 2026. The highest volumes of meat production were recorded in the Chuy Region, whilst the Osh Region led the way in terms of growth rates among the major regions.
Specifically, the Chuy Region produced 40.8 thousand tonnes of livestock and poultry in live weight, which is 5.8 per cent more than in the same period last year. It is noted that this is the highest figure among the regions.
In the Osh Region, meat production reached 30.1 thousand tonnes, an increase of 3.7 per cent. Raw milk production in the region rose by 4.3 per cent to 135.9 thousand tonnes.
Overall, the statistics indicate that the positive trend in agricultural production is continuing in most regions of the country, driven by growth in livestock production in rural areas.
