Russian and South African presidents agree to meet in St Petersburg
Putin and Ramaphosa confirmed mutual readiness to strengthen cooperation in various areas
Russian President Vladimir Putin and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa have agreed to hold a separate meeting at the summit in St Petersburg, said the Kremlin.
The heads of state will exchange views on the bilateral and international agenda, according to a statement published on the official website of the Russian president.
In the telephone conversation, the two leaders also confirmed mutual readiness to strengthen cooperation in various fields, said the report. In addition, Ramaphosa informed Putin about preparations for the upcoming BRICS summit.
The second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum will be held on 27-28 July in St Petersburg, and many African heads of state have already confirmed their participation in this important event.
The first forum was held on 22-24 October 2019 in the coastal city of Sochi in southern Russia, as reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
