Russian universities to present their opportunities for young people in India through TV BRICS telebridge

A new educational television project of TV BRICS will be presented during the teleconference

Russian universities will present their opportunities to the students of the Republic of India who plan to continue their education at the Master's programme. On 8 April 2025, the TV BRICS International Media Network, together with its partner Amity University (India), will hold a linguo-country studies teleconference "Russia. Points of Attraction."

"Russian, as one of the official languages of the UN, plays an important role in India-Russia relations and is a key tool for building solidarity and intercultural understanding. During the teleconference, the Indian participants, through direct communication with native Russian speakers, will be able to immerse themselves in the subtleties of vocabulary and cultural nuances, as well as present elements of Indian culture. The upcoming video meeting will be a significant step in the development of academic and cultural diplomacy. Such initiatives play a special role in strengthening the BRICS as a cohesive and influential international grouping"

Kumari Mansi Coordinator for Amity Centre for BRICS studies

The central studio of the teleconference will be organised at the BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre in Moscow. Tamara Skok, Head of the "Modern Russian" international project of TV BRICS, PhD in Philology, and Deputy Director General for International Cooperation of the All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature named after M. I. Rudomino Miguel Palacio will cooperate on the platform. On the Indian side, representatives of the Centre for BRICS Studies at Amity University, Russian teachers, and students of Russian as a foreign language will join the meeting via videoconference.

Several major Russian universities have announced their readiness to participate in the teleconference: Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Far Eastern Federal University, Kaluga state university named after K. E. Tsiolkovski, Kozma Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University. Foreign students, who receive their education at these universities, will share their impressions of their stay in Russia, talk about their studies, sports and creative work, Russian cuisine, and Russian hospitality.

Also during the teleconference, a new educational television project of TV BRICS - "Russian Lessons" - will be presented, aimed at learning Russian as a foreign language and popularising Russian culture abroad.

"Every teleconference is preceded by a lot of preparatory work: TV BRICS specialists create educational and educational videos, linguists of the 'Modern Russian' project conduct preliminary vocabulary work with foreign colleagues, familiarising them with the vocabulary on the topic of the video meeting, foreign students prepare presentations and creative numbers. To make communication during the teleconference more lively, interactive technologies and cognitive games are used. This makes the event especially dynamic and valuable from a methodological point of view"

Tamara Skok Director of TV BRICS Innovative Linguistic Projects Department

The Russian-Indian teleconference "Russia. Points of Attraction" will take place on 8 April at 12.30 p.m. Moscow time (15.00 p.m. New Delhi time). This will be the seventh international telebridge organised by the TV BRICS' "Modern Russian" project. "Getting to know Russia", "Three cities in the creative destiny of F. M. Dostoevsky” (Brazil), "Let's hold hands, friends!", "Russian hospitality: hearty and tasty", "Seeing off the Russian winter. Maslenitsa", "A. S. Pushkin. Reflections on Happiness" (India) – these teleconferences allowed foreign students to get acquainted with the Russian language and culture, to better learn the traditions and customs of Russia.

The "Modern Russian" international outreach project was created in 2007 to popularise the Russian language, improve the literacy level of the population and provide linguistic assistance. It is implemented by the TV BRICS International Media Network. It has no analogues in Russia and abroad in terms of a set of practical philological activities. Information resources and consulting services of the project are used in more than 150 countries of the world. The programme cooperates with the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute and the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
