Siberian orchestra performs for Harbin audience to boost Sino-Russian cultural collaboration
The concert demonstrated a flourishing cultural partnership
The Harbin Grand Theatre hosted the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra. This year, the team performs in front of a Chinese audience for the 3rd time, as reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
The Siberian ensemble delivered a performance as part of the 37th Harbin Summer Music Festival, co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Harbin municipal government, which has attracted participants from 39 countries and regions.
The concert, a highlight of the festival programme, paid tribute to the 185th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's birth. The event formed part of the ongoing China-Russia Years of Culture 2024-2025, building on a tradition of successful international collaboration between musicians from both nations.
Prior to the Grand Theatre performance, members of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra joined the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra for a joint concert at the city's Philharmonic Hall. This marks the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra's 3d tour of China, a partnership that first blossomed in 2015 and continues to flourish, showcasing the power of music to bridge cultures and foster international understanding.
