Ancient lake in Mexico City –region’s “green lungs”

Lake Texcoco has a rich history – in the past, settlements were located on its shores, and people engaged in fishing and hunting waterfowl. Recently, Texcoco was granted the status of a protected natural area. Thanks to this, the flora and fauna are being restored here, and the place itself has come to be known as the "green lungs" of the capital.
