BRICS: in the Mirror of Times. Interaction between the USSR and India in the energy sector

India today is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. The foundation for such dynamic development was laid decades ago. And the Soviet Union played a decisive role in this.

What was the reason for Moscow to invest huge resources in a faraway country? How did the USSR help create a powerful industrial base there? How did USSR provide for India with energy for the industrial spurt? And why is India ready to develop cooperation with Russia in the energy sector in the 21st century?

All the details - in the new episode of the "BRICS: In the Mirror of Times" project. The guest of the studio is Elza Shirgazina, junior researcher at the Centre of the Indian Ocean Region of the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The joint TV BRICS and GAUGN project received grant support from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science under the federal project "Popularisation of Science and Technology".
