Egypt's Role in BRICS

Egypt's economy is considered one of the most developed and diversified on the African continent. Cairo has shown its BRICS partners a great desire to stimulate mutual trade and settlement in national currencies. Experts believe that joining the association should help this country to attract new investments and implement projects in many sectors. Other BRICS states, in turn, may be very interested in the Suez Canal as a key logistical route for international trade.

Egypt's industry

Main industries: textile, chemical, metallurgical, pharmaceutical, automotive. The agricultural sector provides about 20% of the country's total exports. Much attention is paid to the development of the energy sector. The services sector accounts for 51.4% of GDP.

Egyptian culture

The architecture of this country is famous for its monumental temples and tombs. The famous Egyptian pyramids are called the property not only of the Republic but also of the whole world, the greatest achievement of mankind.

There are also legends about Alexandria, an ancient city, part of which lies under the modern city of the same name. Scientists of the planet are still trying to solve the mystery of the disappeared Library of Alexandria, one of the largest in the ancient world. According to some historians, thousands of papyrus scrolls were stored in it. The pride of modern Egypt is rightly considered the national library in Cairo. It has more than one and a half million publications in its holdings.
