Ethiopia and UAE expand cooperation in investment, trade, tourism and technology
The two countries are strengthening economic ties as Ethiopia promotes new investment opportunities and seeks greater cooperation in technology and expertise

Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates are expanding cooperation across investment, trade, tourism and technology as the two countries seek to translate their growing bilateral relations into new economic opportunities, as reported by ENA, a TV BRICS partner.
Ethiopia's Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the UAE, Jemal Beker, said the countries are stepping up efforts to deepen their partnership across several economic sectors.
According to the ambassador, Ethiopia's ongoing macroeconomic reforms are helping improve the investment environment, attract international capital and strengthen the country's integration into the global economy.
Ethiopia is promoting its renewable energy potential, large and youthful workforce, strategic geographical position and international connectivity among its key advantages for investors. The country is using international conferences, investment events and direct engagement with stakeholders to present opportunities across its economy.
Jemal also highlighted the participation of an Ethiopian delegation led by President Taye Atske Selassie in an annual global investment meeting in the UAE as an opportunity to present Ethiopia's investment potential and strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
Trade represents another priority. The two countries are working to consolidate existing markets, identify new areas of commercial cooperation and facilitate stronger links to increase bilateral trade flows.
Tourism cooperation is also expanding, with Ethiopia seeking to attract more visitors from the UAE by promoting its historical and cultural heritage, natural landscapes and emerging destinations.
Technology transfer, professional expertise and technical support have been identified as additional areas for bilateral cooperation. Such initiatives are expected to support knowledge exchange, capacity building and access to technologies relevant to Ethiopia's economic development.
The initiatives form part of broader efforts by Ethiopia and the UAE to develop their bilateral partnership through practical economic cooperation and create new opportunities for people and businesses in both countries.
