Brazil and Saudi Arabia to sign law regarding visas

Countries can issue visas with a validity of up to five years, for stays of up to 90 days

The draft provides for the issuance of visas for up to five years and for an authorised stay of up to 90 days, present for a total of 180 days per year. This is reported by Metropoles, a partner of TV BRICS.

The rapporteur on the matter in the Constitution and Justice Committee, Diego Coronel, said the proposal strengthens relations between the two countries and “skirts the movement of their citizens, boosting tourism.”

“Relations between Brazil and Saudi Arabia are intense, especially in the commercial sphere, being Brazil's main economic partner in the region and one of our largest oil suppliers,” the official emphasised in the submitted report.

The text provides for the payment of a consular fee of US$80 for the issuance of visas, respecting the principle of reciprocity.
