The summer corn harvest for the 2025/26 season in Brazil’s Centre-South region had reached 97.6 per cent of the estimated planted area of 3.608 million hectares, according to Safras, a partner of TV BRICS. The pace of harvesting slightly exceeded the level recorded during the same period last year and remained above the five-year average.

Harvesting activities were fully completed in several major producing states. In Rio Grande do Sul, farmers finished harvesting across the entire projected area of 946,000 hectares, while Santa Catarina concluded operations on all 607,000 hectares under cultivation. In Parana, the harvest was also finalised across the planted area of 547,000 hectares.

In Sao Paulo, work reached 100 per cent of the cultivated area of 295,000 hectares. Goias and the Federal District also completed harvesting on the entire planted area of 287,000 hectares. Mato Grosso finalised harvesting across 11,000 hectares, maintaining steady progress in the region’s production cycle.

Meanwhile, harvesting in Minas Gerais reached 93.5 per cent of the cultivated area of 854,000 hectares. In Mato Grosso do Sul, operations advanced to 96.7 per cent of the planted area of 30,000 hectares, reflecting continued momentum in the final stage of the harvest season.

During the same period last year, harvesting had been completed on 97.3 per cent of the estimated area of 3.499 million hectares. The current pace also remained above the five-year average of 96.5 per cent, highlighting stable agricultural conditions and efficient field operations across Brazil’s key corn-producing regions.
