The document was signed by the foreign ministers of the two countries in Riyadh
Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, and Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, have signed an agreement on the reciprocal exemption of short-term visas for holders of diplomatic and special passports. This was reported on the official website of Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Under the agreement, travel for eligible passport holders will become visa-free on the basis of reciprocity. The measure is aimed at facilitating the movement of official representatives holding such passports. The document is also expected to strengthen ties between government institutions in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The agreement was signed during a consultative meeting of ministers in Riyadh and marks another step in the development of bilateral relations. Cairo and Riyadh continue to expand cooperation across a wide range of areas of mutual interest.
Previously, the two sides had already reached several agreements. These include the establishment of a Supreme Coordination Council aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including trade and technology.
In addition, Saudi and Egyptian companies signed an agreement to collaborate in the field of logistics to support the development of the Kingdom’s telecommunications infrastructure.
