India strengthens position as global clean industry hub with US$433 billion pipeline
New report highlights rapid expansion of clean industrial projects across multiple sectors and states, reinforcing India’s growing role in the global energy transition

India’s clean industrial investment pipeline has reached an estimated US$433.07 billion, placing the country among the world’s leading centres for clean industrial development, according to the latest data. India now ranks third globally by the number of clean industrial projects, following China.
The report identified 65 projects spanning four sectors and 11 Indian states, reflecting strong momentum in clean fuels, chemicals and low-carbon manufacturing. Over the past six months, the country’s clean industrial pipeline has expanded by around 30 per cent, supported by rising investments in green hydrogen, renewable energy-based manufacturing and industrial policies focused on energy security.
Green ammonia currently accounts for the largest share of projects, with 49 developments recorded across the country. The report also noted increasing activity in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), green methanol and low-carbon aluminium.
The findings underline India’s broader ambition to strengthen industrial supply chains powered by renewable energy while supporting long-term manufacturing resilience, reports IANS, a partner of TV BRICS.
Experts noted that the country is building one of the world’s most significant early-stage clean industry pipelines and has strong potential to emerge as a major global hub for clean manufacturing, fuels and exports over the coming decade.
