Egypt to launch dedicated investment fund for Egyptians living abroad
The initiative aims to attract overseas capital and channel it into the country's economic development
The Egyptian government plans to launch a dedicated investment fund for Egyptians living abroad in 2027. The announcement was made by Ahmed Kouchouk, Egypt's Minister of Finance, as reported by Daily News Egypt, a TV BRICS partner.
According to the minister, the authorities intend to make participation in the fund as straightforward as possible while offering investors additional incentives. The Ministry of Finance is currently finalising the project in cooperation with leading Egyptian and international investment banks.
At the same time, the government is developing a unified digital platform for business registration. The service will enable entrepreneurs to establish companies through a simplified process and gain access to government incentives, as well as tax and customs preferences.
The government is also continuing the digital transformation of public services. Artificial intelligence technologies are being integrated into government platforms to speed up service delivery and make services available in multiple languages for both citizens residing in Egypt and Egyptians living overseas.
A mobile application for property tax services will also be introduced in the near future. It will allow users to register property, submit tax declarations, apply for tax exemptions and pay fees in any currency. The authorities also plan to launch an additional application for property transactions at a later stage.
In addition, specialised tax service centres have already begun operating across Egypt. From 2027, Egyptians living abroad will be able to receive online tax consultations through these centres.
According to the authorities, the new measures are intended to strengthen ties with Egyptian citizens abroad while creating additional opportunities for investment in the country's economy.
