On Tuesday, 1 August, the 14th Valentina Leontieva International Film and TV Festival "From the Whole Soul" will open in the Ulyanovsk region. The film festival programme includes 110 film events. They will be held from 1 to 5 August at 48 venues in the region. More than 80 free film screenings of competitive and non-competitive programmes will be held in digital cinema halls of the Ulyanovsk region.
On Friday, 4 August, the Palace of Friendship of Peoples "Gubernatorsky" will host a special event dedicated to the cinema of BRICS countries with the participation of guests of the III BRICS International Youth Camp of the "Five" countries. The main event of the evening will be the premiere of the film "Dostoevsky Intercontinental", a documentary project by the joint editorial staff of TV BRICS.
The international network TV BRICS is the media partner of the event and presents a special TV BRICS programme, which includes films by directors from BRICS countries.
The event will bring together young creative people from different countries who are ready to speak the language of art, represent their culture and find new opportunities for communication.
"The art of cinema has no borders. It has always been and will always be a territory that unites people. The XIV International Film and TV Festival for family viewing named after Valentina Leontieva "From the whole soul" will be a platform where young people from different countries and continents will gather. The audience and participants of the evening are representatives of BRICS countries from the summer camp in Ulyanovsk, residents of the House of Young People, students of Ulyanovsk universities from different countries of the world and members of the community "Ulyanovsk – UNESCO City of Literature". There will also be guests of the film festival from Russia, Armenia, Republic of Belarus, representatives of film communities and creative professions of Ulyanovsk. The main event will be the premiere of the film "Dostoevsky Intercontinental" made by BRICS filmmakers. We are sure that communication and work at the film festival will become a starting point for many new projects and creative alliances", stressed Evgenia Sidorova, Minister of Arts and Cultural Policy of the Ulyanovsk Region.
Screenings of TV BRICS on the platforms of the largest national film competitions of the BRICS countries have already become traditional. Last year, the media network organised many special screenings of documentary films by directors from the BRICS countries about the culture, traditions and modern life of the peoples of these countries at international film festivals in Russia, India, South Africa and Brazil. The goal is to tell the audience about the current realities of life in the alliance countries and to form a positive image of the Five countries in the global media space.
