Iran announces local production of three advanced nano-based medicines for cancer and fungal infection treatment
Local production has reduced costs, with full coverage under the national health insurance scheme
Iran has announced the domestic production of three advanced medicines developed with nanotechnology to treat cancer and severe fungal infections, according to the Head of the Strategic Development Centre under the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology.
The medicines, introduced to the market last year, include drugs for leukaemia, a treatment for pancreatic cancer, and an injectable antifungal medication. Their combined market value exceeds US$6.5 million, and all are produced using local technology.
Local production has reduced costs, with full coverage under the national health insurance scheme, as reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS. This has ensured equitable access to treatment for patients across all segments of society.
