Iran presents latest nuclear industry achievements in Russia

Iran has presented its latest nuclear industry achievements at Russia’s Atom Expo 2025 in Moscow, highlighting progress in fields ranging from nuclear medicine to advanced agricultural applications, according to Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Among the technologies showcased were radiopharmaceuticals, heavy water production with isotope enrichment, cold plasma devices for treating diabetic wounds, and innovations in electronics. 

Officials stressed that these advances demonstrate how Iran’s nuclear programme is being applied to diverse sectors such as healthcare, science, and agriculture.

Iran is not the only BRICS country making significant advances in nuclear technology. Recently,  Fana Media Corporation (FMC), a partner of TV BRICS, reported that Russia and Ethiopia signed an action plan for a nuclear power plant in the African country, aimed at providing clean energy and supporting public utilities, underscoring the growing partnership between the two nations.

Meanwhile, Indonesia is also pursuing nuclear development, planning to create more than 6,800 green jobs through the construction of nuclear power plants. Both small modular reactors and larger facilities are expected to generate substantial employment, while the government is preparing the workforce through updated training programmes and specialised institutions, according to  VNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Malaysia, along with several ASEAN countries, is actively considering nuclear energy as part of its future energy mix to meet rising industrial and digital economy demands. According to  BERNAMA, a partner of TV BRICS, the Malaysian government, through its energy agency, has launched a study on nuclear energy adoption, which is expected within the next 10 to 15 years.
