Iran's non-oil exports to India surge to US$1.4 billion

Iran's non-oil exports to India have reached a significant milestone, with a total value of US$1.4 billion recorded during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (20 March, 2024 – 21 December, 2024), according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Foroud Asgari, head of IRICA, announced that this export volume places India as Iran's seventh largest export destination during this period, underscoring the strengthening trade relationship between the two nations. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

Simultaneously, India has also maintained its position as a key source of imports for Iran, with commodities valued at US$1.1 billion entering the Iranian market, positioning India as Iran's fifth top source of imports for the same nine-month timeframe.

This trade activity follows a performance in the previous Iranian calendar year, where Iran's exports to India reached US$2.217 billion, representing a two percent increase compared to the US$2.175 billion recorded the year prior.

These figures reflect a sustained growth in bilateral trade, the source claims.
