Iran’s oil exports reach historical levels

Analysts suggest that the country’s performance reflects a combination of strategic routing and high demand in key markets

Recent data from international tanker tracking firms reveals that Iran’s crude oil exports reached approximately 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) in May, marking one of the highest levels recorded in recent months. This was reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Energy analytics highlighted that Iran has consistently maintained similar shipping rates in recent weeks. These statistics point to a sustained momentum in Iran's energy exports, aligning with previous highs observed in late 2023.

Further reports point to a significant rise in crude exports towards the end of June, with an estimated 44 per cent increase. Analysts also suggest that the country’s export performance reflects a combination of strategic routing, high demand in key markets, and adaptable supply mechanisms.

One of the main buyers was China. China's oil imports from Iran soared in June, reaching record levels as shipments increased due to higher demand from independent refiners, as reported by Mehr News Agency, citing information from international ship-tracking companies.
