Iran shares pharmaceutical expertise with Malaysia

Iran is to build sustainable partnerships in health, research, and medical education

Iran is expanding its health diplomacy by deepening medical cooperation with Malaysia, focusing on organ transplantation, pharmaceutical development, medical education, and public health. This is reported by Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS.

During talks between Malaysian Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad and Iranian Minister of Health Mohammad-Reza Zafarqandi, the two sides explored opportunities for knowledge exchange, particularly in kidney and liver transplants. The Malaysian delegation expressed strong interest in Iran’s achievements in transplant surgery and related training.

Iranian Minister of Health noted that Iran currently operates 20 active kidney transplant centres and has carried out thousands of successful procedures.

He offered fellowship and subspecialty training programmes to support Malaysia’s clinical capacity-building.

Both sides underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration. The ministers agreed on the need for structured efforts to transfer technical knowledge and strengthen domestic healthcare systems.
