Preparations for Iran’s upgraded “Dual-View 1” satellite have been completed, with plans for its launch into orbit in the coming weeks. The satellite is set to become the country’s first hybrid platform for both remote sensing and communications, reports Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Hossein Shahrabi, CEO of the knowledge-based company behind the satellite, explained that Dual-View 1 has been developed as a follow-up to the Kowsar and Hodhod satellites, combining the missions of both into a single integrated system.

The upgraded model features additional solar cells and enhanced communications hardware. The most effective links from the previous satellites have been retained, and a new S-band connection has been added, enabling comprehensive ground-based attitude control, Shahrabi noted.

The official confirmed that Dual-View 1 is scheduled for launch between late November and early December, using the same launcher that successfully deployed Kowsar and Hodhod.
