Physicist from Russia is recognised as the best at the BRICS Young Innovator Prize
This is the first time that a Russian representative has won the competition
The results of the sixth BRICS Young Innovator Prize, which ended in South Africa, have been summarised. For the first time, a participant from the Russian Federation became the winner of the forum of young scientists of the five countries.
First place went to physicist Dmitry Yudin, who, together with a team from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, presented his development, a non-contact vibration diagnostics method for industrial equipment based on an event camera.
The innovation makes it possible to assess the technical condition of devices. In the future, it is planned to expand the scope of its application to robotics, medicine and other spheres, as reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
Jury selected projects in four thematic areas: modernisation of production, modernisation of agriculture, modernisation of the mining industry, circular economy.
The aim of the competition is to identify the best research and innovation projects, as well as to involve as many young scientists from the five countries as possible in international scientific and technical cooperation.
Next year, the seventh edition of the competition will be held in Russia as part of the country's chairmanship of the BRICS alliance.
